It would remain a memorable Christmas party for both the
host (Staff) and the hosted (guests). The event began in grandeur with some of
Nollywood’s finest stars like IfeanyiKalu (who
was the official compere of the event), Thelma O’Khaz, Fredrick Leonard,
James Gardiner, gracing the red carpet. Colour code for the evening was white,
black and red.
Following the ushering in, the event commenced in full gear
with humor monger, Da Preacher tickling the audience with his rib-cracking
jokes. Nyelu was present to swing and sway the crowd with his waves-making hit,
'showcase'. Pryse (Chocolate City First Lady) with her blend of feminity and
hiphop held the audience spell-bound. The jaws of all present dropped at the
acrobatic skills of the dynamic trio of the young David Crusaders. Another side attraction was the AFOREVO
choir, made up of members of staff. They rendered a christmas carol and mimed
YemiAlade and Selebobo’s ‘Nagode’, and they did a great job - coming from
workers. Amidst the music, mingling and movements was wining and dining
comprosing exotic drinks, intercontinental and local dishes.
The best was truly reserved for the last which was the
presentation of special awards to well-deserving members of staff. Five
earmarked workers identified as Abubakar Yusuf, ChiamakaMgbemena, SeyiAdebola,
Isioma Chelsea Batiwe and Yahaya Abraham were presented with surprise prizes of
a car each.
Cheers met tears as their names were announced as some
couldn't contain their bewilderment. Coworkers chanted and cheered uproaringly
affirming that the awards were well deserved. What a way to end a year after
work. At Murphy Ben Int'l, they work hard but play harder.
