HEADIES next rated award winner, Reekado Banks, has described his rise to fame and stardom as a miracle because his life took a dramatic turn for the better after he met Don Jazzy of Mavin Records. He made this known while promoting his new single entitled Oluwa Ni.
Going down memory lane, the Ondo State born musician said: “I have been singing since 2008 but I met Don Jazzy about five years. Meeting Don Jazzy was divine. He put out word on the internet that people should send in their demos so my brother submitted mine.
To cut the long story short, out of 5,000 entries, I was the one he picked. That’s why I said it’s a miracle. Ever since I joined the Mavin crew, my life has changed for the better and I have been able to build a duplex for my parents.
“Though I have not reached where I am going in life but it’s just right to thank God for everything that I have right now because I owe it all to God.” To date he has won awards including Rookie of The Year 2014, City People Most Promising Artiste’ and Next Rated award at the Headies 2015. He added that hopefully, before the end of the year, he will drop his debut album. Commenting on his new single he continued: “Oluwa Ni is doing well. In just four days, the song has received over 125, 000 views on YouTube. The message is to encourage people out there going through tough times.”
