Two International Finance Centre
Designed by architect Cesar Pelli, the Two IFC stands at 420 meters (1,378 feet) and has a total of 88 floors, capable of accommodating 15,000 people. This commanding landmark is the tallest building on Hong Kong Island, the second-tallest in the city and the 10th tallest buildings in the world.
Two IFC was completed in 2003 as part of a complex that includes the upmarket IFC Mall and the Four Seasons Hotel, as well as MTR Hong Kong Station, which services the MTR Airport Express and MTR Tung Chung Line.
Two IFC is equipped with double deck elevators and was featured in one of the best movies of Hollywood Tomb Raider 2.
Jin Mao Tower
Jin Mao Tower is the 9th tallest building in the world. The 88-storey Tower was completed in 1999. It is 420.5 meters (almost 1380 feet) tall and covers an area of 2.3 hectares (5.68 acres). The architect, Adrian D. Smith, of this skyscraper ingeniously combined the elements of traditional Chinese culture with the newest architectural styles of the time, which makes it one of the best-constructed buildings in China.
Jin Mao Tower is mostly used for official purposes or tourist visits to the great grand Hyatt hotel which gives an extraordinary beautiful view from its top floor to the interior of the building. The 57 floor to the top floor of this building, houses a deluxe 5-star hotel – the Grand Hyatt Shanghai; which is one of the highest hotels in the world.
The tower also has two direct elevators operating at the speed of 9.1 meters (nearly 30 feet) per second, which can send visitors from the ground floor to the 88th floor in 45 seconds. There are also five to six elevators at every 10 floors, which reduce waiting time to 35 seconds even during rush hours.
Currently Jin Mao Tower is the second tallest building in Shanghai, but it used to be the tallest building of China from 1999 to 2008 before Shanghai World Financial Center was built and took its place.
Guangzhou International Finance Center
Guangzhou International Finance Center is a huge skyscraper 438 meters (1,435 feet) high having 103 floors and was built in 2010 in Guangzhou – one of the most developing city of China.
